This clinic left my Italian Greyhound in a cage for nearly 2 hours with a badly broken leg without stabilizing the fracture. She was trying to stand on the leg before I brought her in, so locking her in a cage without splinting her leg would have been like me leaving her out in the yard to try and walk on a leg literally broken in half and flopping. They were very compassionate, and gave my dog pain medication. They helped me figure out where to take her to get the leg repaired. However, they only reduced and splinted the break after calling NC State veterinary hospital who told them they absolutely had to do this for my dog to travel up to NC State for care. Failure to splint the leg can cut off blood supply. My other IG broke her leg in Alabama, and that emergency vet knew to immediately stabilize and loosely splint the leg to prevent additional damage. I cannot say if it was due to not stabilizing the leg, but NC State discovered that my dog had splintered bone fragments at either end of the break upon arrival that were so bad, they were unsure if they could even do surgery using multiple plates. Fortunately my dog got to keep her leg, and can walk, but we will not likely go back to this emergency vet for this type of issue. Maybe they are better with different types of emergencies.
I called because I found a very very sweet stray cat, and the woman who answered the phone rudely told me if I brought it to them they would just put it down. I found out later that they would not have put it down and that that woman was mistaken, and that they do take strays. Awful experience, I will never take my cat there.
My Chihuahua couldn't breathe and time we walked in the door they took him to the back. His condition wasn't good and the vet explained everything to us step by step. My baby didn't make it. I took my Pom to them 10 years ago and they took awesome care of him. We were treated awesome.... I would recommend them to all my family and friends.
This place is phenomenal. Simply blown away with the care and attention they gave our little one. We were on vacation from Texas and unfortunately our shih tzu got attacked by two dogs which led to some significant injuries. We luckily found this place and what a blessing to do so. Everyone is so prompt and helpful and keep great communication within each other to make sure the pets are taken care of. Always explained what the procedures would be and gave us copies of all notes with even personal notes of anything they were doing with him. We just wish we had a clinic back home as good as this one with people who care just like everyone in his clinic does. What this clinic is doing to help this community is truly amazing. Thank you guys!!
top notch care for animals with serious injury I am so grateful for their caring attitude toward animal & owner
